MediaTek has just announced the Helio P95 SoC to support 64MP cameras

Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek has announced its new Helio processor – Helio P95. The new chipset falls under the company record of Helio P, which also replaces the well-known Helio P90 SoC, which was released in 2018. Cameras, games and more.

In terms of build, the Helio P95 is an octa-core 64-bit processor built into two ARM Cortex-A75 CPUs and six ARM Cortex-A55 CPUs. The P95 has an IMG PowerVR 9446 GPU that claims to have a 10% increase in performance compared to its predecessors, in addition, MediaTek is also implementing its HyperEngine technology, which is expected to bring some additional features in the game. This GPU will support displays up to 2520 × 1080.

The Helio P95 is also expected to have AI enhancements, including safe and fast front-facing recognition, which enhances the openness of the smartphone and can be useful for mobile payment gateways. Chipset also comes with AI speed, and the company also claims that AI chipset camera repair can be faster which can help with bokeh shooting being captured and detected on the edge.

The Helio P95 chipset also enhances its performance based on a pre-installed camera. Unlike the last, which supported the 48MP camera, now the old Helio P95 supports the 64MP sensor on high-resolution images. It also supports dual cameras with 24MP + 16MP, which should be useful for recording boke-live viewers up to 30fps, according to the company.

In terms of memory, the Helio P95 chipset will support up to 8GB RAM (ie LPDD4x) and storage types up to UFS 2.1. And, in terms of connectivity, the Helio P95 supports both Dual VoLTE and all SIMs, in addition to supporting Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Overall, the recently announced MediaTek Helio 95 is expected to support the upcoming budget to be below the standard mid-range phones introduced this year, however, the chipset maker did not elaborate on the number of phones that might have the new chipset. In the meantime, Qualcomm shared high-end smartphones with the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC This also includes the upcoming Black Shark 3.
